PREMARITAL, MARRIAGE & COUPLES ONLINE COUNSELING

While I have no fixed notion of what a relationship should be, here are some questions that should help guide you in determining the quality of your relationship:

  • Do you and your partner bring out the best in one another?
  • Is there mutual respect?
  • Can you count on one another?
  • Do you each feel heard and understood?
  • How is conflict handled?
  • Are emotions used constructively or destructively?

Is your relationship challenged by any of the following?

BETRAYAL - infidelity, loss of trust

ADDICTION - pornography, sex, drugs, alcohol, gambling

BOREDOM - sexual, emotional

SEXUALITY - intimacy, quantity/quality, negotiating alternative relationships

COMMUNICATION - having a voice, listening, stubbornness, patience, anger, expressions of affection

RECONCILIATION - redefining, renewing, rewiring

UNCOUPLING - knowing when it’s time

If your partnership is challenged in any of these areas, you have good reason to seek help. In the day-to-day, it may feel easier not to rock the boat. But why resign yourself to merely bearing out your relationship?

Nothing from a manual or scripted in my approach to couples counseling. I am guided by your specific challenges and by who you are as individuals. I encourage you to consider taking this step for the sake of your current or future relationships.
