Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (IS-TDP)
INTENSIVE SHORT-TERM DYNAMIC PSYCHOTHERAPY (IS-TDP) IS NOT JUST A TECHNIQUE; IT’S A WAY OF UNDERSTANDING HUMAN BEHAVIOR.
Difficulty making decisions, feelings of shame, sadness, self-criticism, insecurity, struggling in relationships, helplessness, perfectionism, self-destructiveness, as well as ruminating about the past, and obsessing about the future, are indicators of emotional disconnect.
YOU ARE A PRODUCT OF WHAT YOU’VE EXPERIENCED.
What happened in your past can’t “unhappen”. The way you perceived and responded to these experiences has shaped who and how you are - your operating system- which now influences how you relate to the world and to yourself.
The focus of therapy, then, won’t be about what to do about past trauma, but about how you’ve responded to it. You may discover that what served to protect you in the past is now causing you difficulties in the present.
PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEMS CAN STEM FROM IGNORING YOUR EMOTIONS.
Avoiding feelings requires you to create and maintain a facade, constructed to hide your true self, rendering you cut off from authentic connections. This avoidance is an automatic response that often takes place without your full awareness. Until a precise connection to these unconscious feelings is made, persistent problems will remain an ongoing struggle. Helping you bring these dynamics into your awareness is a crucial part of therapy.
THIS THERAPEUTIC APPROACH HELPS REVEAL UNDERLYING FEELINGS THAT HAVE BEEN CUT OFF.
Together, we can bring them safely into consciousness, where they can be fully experienced and handled directly.
Instead of accepting the status quo, this approach offers an effective way to acquire an honest view of yourself and develop new ways to relate to yourself and others.
You can expect me to be highly engaged in this process until your goals are met.
